Palpability

Students' excitement is tangible. Our school is filled with fun energy. A few of my seniors from last year have returned to say hello and mingle. Five hours until vacation. Everyone is ready.

Wheels in motion

Well, the short story prompt is typed and ready for posting on the individual class blog pages. I've reserved the computer lab and computer carts for after the break. When we return in January, students will revise their story drafts and get them ready for publishing. The following week the stories will be posted, and students will be asked to comment on three of their peers' tales.

The possibilities

It hasn't even been 24 hours since I created this blog, and although there's hardly anything here yet, I am very excited about the possibilities. I'm beginning to understand why students spend so much time on their myspace pages... Hopefully this medium will allow for a carry-over from the physical classroom to the virtual classroom.

Right now I'm thinking about the logistics of uploading students' short stories to their respective class pages. As I am the owner of this blog, only I can add content. Anyone, however, can comment. It would be cool to publish students' stories to the blog, and have friends and family members be able to provide online feedback.

Mr. B-G's first blog entry

This is my initial attempt to create a blog. Eventually I would like my students to be able to post their work to the web for peer and instructor feedback. I need to get the hang of it first, however.
